Sumitra Devi is a graduate of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and was called to Malaysian Bar in 2007. She commenced her legal practice with the renowned Zaid Ibrahim & Co upon her graduation. In the year of 2013, she was offered to join partnership and run the legal firm with the name, Sumitra Prema & Associates and merged out to build the firm to the next phase in the year 2016. And with God’s blessings, she is now the managing partner of Sumitra Devi & Partners. Her practice covers various areas of law ranging from corporate disputes, conveyancing, family matters, will writing, probate, dispute resolution, banking & recovery and general litigation. She has significant expertise in conveyancing, sale & purchase agreement, will writing and corporate practices as well as the legal advisor for several non-profitable organizations.
Miss Sumitra lends her experience and knowledge to the general public through her profound involvement in imparting legal literacy. Her effort includes writing articles on raising legal awareness on various aspects of law some of which are in the midst of publication and conducting legal awareness talks. Miss Sumitra is also an avid altruist. She has been notably associated with conducting self-development for people from all walks of life. She sits as an advisor of a legal aid team and further ventures into providing enrichment trainings and programs to enhance entrepreneurial opportunities for women, as well as a proud Rotarian. She is also currently affiliated with pro-bono projects aspiring to aid single mothers and also educating the children and teenagers on several topics, most particularly career opportunity and parenting and also few international spiritual non profitable organisation.
